27th November 2001 -
Queens Arms v Green Dragon
Simon on the spot says:
A return to winning ways in a hard fought battle against a team who apparently won away to the Dusthole last week.
The Singles
Tony lost, Paul won, Geoff won (bugger me! - yes I do take the mickey out of Geoff a lot, that's because I know
he's the only one who reads this), Peachey lost, Rich won, Horse won, Simon won, Martin H lost. Leading 5-3.
The Doubles
Tony and Paul won, Geoff and Peachey lost, Rich and Horse won, Simon and Martin H lost. Leading 7-5.
The Fours
Lost both 4's (we never make it easy do we?). Losing 9-7
The Eight
Won the 8 with Simon getting out on a high pressure 56. Won 10-9 (2 points).
Points of note:-
Paul hits a 180 in his single.
Undoubtedly the key game in the one leg victory, was Simon's single, which he eventually won after about 20
minutes on double 1. Yes Geoff, I did make you look good. (Its a good
job you admitted that - I saw Geoff on Thursday morning and said I would
put that in whether you wrote it or not! -webmaster)
Horse continues to impress with his form following his return to the side, as does Rich despite much barracking.
Captain and former captain could both do with bucking up their ideas!
