A disappointing loss, which we certainly had enough chances to win. First the facts: -
The Singles
Tony lost, Paul won, Geoff lost, Rich lost, Peachey lost, Simon won, Wayne (aka Martin T!) won, Martin H lost. (Losing 5-3).
The Doubles
Tony and Paul won, Geoff and Rich won, Peachey and Simon won, Wayne and Martin H lost. (Drawing 6 all).
The Fours
Won top 4, lost bottom 4. (Drawing 8 all).
The Eight
Lost eight (lost 11- 8; one point).
After winning the first four the Dragon had ample chances to clinch the match with several throws at a winning double in both the second four and the eight. In fact we were 300 odd ahead in the eight and still managed to lose.
Wayne stepped in for his first game of the season (probably just so he can attend the end of season meal), and straight away had to play a woman! He then ended up on double 1. Not realising he had split double 2 the throw before, he threw 2 darts at double 2 (fortunately neither scored) before we all shouted "NO you're on double 1!" With one dart left - you've guessed it - straight in double 1.
The captain played his worst game of the season and never scored a point all night - so it was all his fault
Earlier in the week Geoff found Rich's darts (which he had lost at the last home game) on the verge outside his house! We believe Rich had tried to throw them in Geoff's garden but missed as usual!
