16th October 2001 - Green Dragon v Lions Head
Another good performance by the Dragon - although not quite as impressive as last week because the Lions Head had the cheek for all their players to turn up!
Tony, Paul, Geoff, Rich and Martin H won their singles, Martin T, Mike and Simon lost theirs. (5 points)
Tony and Paul lost their double, as did Geoff and Martin T, as did Rich and Mike. Luckily Simon and Martin H won their double or the game would have depended on the Eight. (1 point)
Tony, Paul, Geoff and Martin T won their Four, as did Rich, Mike, Simon and Martin H. (4 points)
The Team lost the Eight though but it did not matter as they had already won the match 10 points to 9 to win 2 match points.
The Team now has a new Captain - Martin H and his tactics appear to be working a treat. He even thinks about the order the players should play before 8:35 on a Tuesday night! Whatever next? - he'll have them getting there early to practice if they don't watch out.
